Jesus said, “I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the full.”

(John 10: 10)

“See, I set before you today LIFE and prosperity, death and destruction.
For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you.”

Now choose LIFE, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your LIFE, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”

(Deuteronomy 30: 15-16, 19b-20)

A verse for today

A prayer

Thank you Lord for this brand new day.
Give me the wisdom to see its possibilities, the strength to face its challenges, and the grace to be open to its promise.
Give me your heart of love to do a favour, speak a kindness, offer a hand, soothe a hurt, celebrate a joy, share a sorrow, or in some small way give myself in love to another in your name.

Anon.

A Blessing

May the God of peace,
Who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,
that great Shepherd of the sheep,
through the blood of the eternal covenant,
make us perfect in every good work to do His will,
working in us that which is well-pleasing in His sight,
through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory for ever. Amen

(adapted from Hebrews 13:20)

The prayer of St Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
